RL-2000/L

PRIMARY SURVEILLANCE RADAR L-BAND

Primary surveillance radar fully configured according to customer requirements. Use for terminal controlled area (TMA), extended-area (TMA) and long range, en-route. The complete superheterodyne system uses state-of-the-art technology. The system can be configured for a range of 60/80/100/160/200/250 NM. The radar is designed for use in continuous operation, maintenance and possible repairs take place without the need to interrupt the radar. The radar can be supplemented with a monopulse secondary surveillance radar MSSR-1.

Antenna System

L-Band reflector antenna with two beams creating a cosec2 diagram with high gain according to the selected radar configuration.

Transmitter

The radar system transmitter is fully modular, air-cooled. The transmitter operates in the L-Band frequency. Frequency diversity is used to transmit short and long pulses. The transmitter is available in several basic configurations according to customer requirements within reach. The overall configuration of the transmitter allows the use of 8 / 16 / 32 transmitter modules with GaN technology and advanced diagnostics.

Reciever

Fully digital. Directly sampling the received frequency. Accurate reception and high dynamic range are ensured by direct A/D conversion of the input signal. The receiver has a digital automatic gain control and its calibration, which progressively increases its stability. Advanced BITE diagnostics monitors receiver parameters.

Signal Processor

The signal processor is based on 64-bit processors with high computing power. The adaptive CFAR filter is part of the signal processing for both target detection and cloud detection. The extraction process involves the precise determination of the position of the individual targets and their characteristics used in further processing and display. The entire signal processor system contains great setting options using maps directly for individual customer installations.

Control and Monitoring System (CMS-CAM)

Each system equipment or unit is fitted with independent BITE diagnostics to carry out performance monitoring and automatic system backup changeover at system level. LCMS is located on radar site, RCMS can be located in remote technical room in Control tower (TWR), etc. The CMS consists of radar status and performance monitoring and allows the authorized personnel to control and adjust radar configuration and parameters remotely. CMS incorporates a user-friendly graphical interface which is used for data and status presentation.
